Lowboy Dresser in Oak
this project was a commission, a collaboration and an absolute delight to design and execute. The client had a rough idea of what they were looking for in aesthetics and dimension and through a quick recourse of iterations we arrived on a simple and classic piece.
It starts with a sketch. On the left, was a quick sketch direct messaged to me from an interested party. On the right is a proposed revision and my cut list to approximate material costs.
Once basic details are set I put together a working drawing and rendering of the piece to best portray my vision to the client. These exacting specifications all become instrumental for me during the building process.
Adding the pencil roll was a fun detail both to conceive and to build. Also the leg stand, not something I would have thought of, was an enjoyable exercise to bring into reality.
Osmo finish was used to give a matte and translucent finish that is equally subtle and durable. The result lets the white oak shine through naturally as the piece ages naturally into its patina.
